Social media management proposal template

Social media clients want to know three things before they sign: what you will post, how often, and how they will know it is working. This template answers all three. It starts with an audit and a 90-day plan, then prices content, publishing and reporting as separate monthly lines, so the client can see exactly what a month buys.

How to scope and price it

  • State the number of posts and channels in the line item, 16 posts across two channels here. A vague content line invites a dispute at month three.
  • Charge community management separately from content. Replying to comments takes real time, and a separate line shows the client it is part of the service.
  • Build an approval step into the month. Sharing content five business days ahead protects your publishing schedule when a client is slow to reply.
  • Keep ad spend out of your fee and say so. Clients should see that budget go straight to the platforms.

The terms, and why

A three-month minimum gives a content plan time to show a result, and 30 days notice keeps the exit simple. The account access line protects both sides: the client owns their accounts and you work through permissions they can remove. The line about not buying followers is worth keeping, because clients sometimes ask for it.
