PropoBox is in Claude's connector directory: what you can ask it to do
You can now work on your PropoBox proposals from a Claude chat: see who to follow up with, draft a proposal from a template, and send it after you say yes.
PropoBox is now in Claude's connector directory. If you already use Claude, you can connect your PropoBox account once and then work on your proposals from the chat: ask who needs a nudge, have a draft written into your account, send it when you say so.
This post covers what it does, what it deliberately does not do, and how to set it up in about two minutes.
What you can ask Claude to do
The connector has ten tools. Five of them only read:
- Who to follow up with. Proposals that were read but not answered, proposals not opened yet, bounced emails, proposals close to expiry, and signed proposals whose deposit is not marked as received. Each comes with what happened and a suggested note.
- How a proposal was read. Visits, reading time and the last visit. On Pro and Business, time per section as well.
- Your proposals, clients and saved templates. Search them in plain words instead of clicking through lists.
The other five write to your account, and two of them reach a client:
- Create a draft. Write the deal in the chat (title, client, line items with prices, optional extras, dates, terms, a deposit share) and Claude creates it in PropoBox as a draft. You can also start from one of your saved templates or from a past proposal, so your terms and your own agreement text come along.
- Send a proposal or a follow-up. The email goes out in your name and replies come to your inbox. A follow-up is capped at one per proposal per day.
- Extend a proposal. Move the valid-until date forward by 7, 14 or 30 days. An expired proposal reopens.
- Mark a deposit as received. This records your word that the money arrived, so the proposal leaves your waiting list. PropoBox cannot see the payment and no money moves through the connector.
A few requests that work
- "Who should I follow up with today?"
- "Start a retainer for Harbor Dental from my website template, $1,400 a month."
- "Make the same proposal as Dana's last one, for Lumen, with this agreement: [your text]."
- "Send the Harbor Dental proposal to Dana with a short note."
- "Give the Fieldnote proposal two more weeks."
The names are made up for the example. The documentation lists what Claude does for each request.
What it will not do
This is the part to read closely.
- Nothing reaches a client by accident. Creating a proposal only makes a draft. A client receives something only through the send tools, and PropoBox tells Claude to show you the recipient and the note and wait for your go-ahead first.
- Claude does not write your contract. An agreement is your own text. Claude attaches only text you gave it, or text saved in your templates and past proposals, exactly as it is.
- No deletes, no billing, no other team's data. There is no tool for any of them.
- Your plan still applies. Monthly proposal and email limits work as they do in the app, and so do team roles: a viewer on your team can read through the connector but cannot create or send.
- Notes from clients are data. If a client wrote something when declining, Claude gets it as a quote with an instruction never to act on it.
How to connect
- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, and look for PropoBox under Discover.
- Choose Connect. A PropoBox page opens. Sign in if you are not already, review what Claude will be able to do and choose Allow.
- Back in Claude, ask "Who should I follow up with today?" to check that it works.
You need a PropoBox account on any plan, including Free, and a Claude account. If your Claude organization manages connectors, an admin may have to allow PropoBox first. Claude never sees your password: you approve access on a PropoBox page and Claude receives an access token for your account.
To disconnect, open Settings in PropoBox and revoke Claude under Connected apps. The token stops working at once.
Why a connector
Most proposal work is small and repetitive: remembering who has not answered, retyping the same scope for a repeat client, finding the right template. A chat is a good place for that. The part that has to be exact stays in PropoBox: the proposal page your client reads, the signature, the deposit link, and the record of when it was opened. Claude drafts from what you tell it. PropoBox sends, tracks and closes.
If you are new to chasing proposals, how to follow up on a proposal covers the timing and wording. The connector page and the full documentation have every tool and limit.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a paid PropoBox plan to use the Claude connector?
No. The connector works on any plan, including Free. Your plan's monthly limits for proposals and emails apply exactly as they do in the app.
Can Claude send a proposal without asking me?
PropoBox tells Claude to show you the recipient and the note and wait for your go-ahead before it sends a proposal or a follow-up. A proposal Claude creates stays a draft until then.
Does PropoBox see my Claude conversations?
No. PropoBox receives only what Claude passes to a tool, such as the title and prices of a draft you asked for, and stores the result in your account like any proposal you make yourself.
How do I turn the connector off?
In PropoBox, open Settings and revoke Claude under Connected apps. You can also remove the connector in Claude's settings.
Does the connector move money or see payments?
No. Marking a deposit as received only records your word that it arrived. PropoBox cannot see the payment and no money moves through the connector.
